Ivelisse De la Fe was born and raised in Havana, Cuba. She graduated summa
cum laude from Florida Southern College with a Bachelor in Music. Having
developed an intense desire to learn as much as she could about her new
country and its laws, Mrs. De la Fe attended Stetson College of Law. While
attending law school, Mrs. De la Fe served as a judicial intern for the
Honorable Judge Thomas McGrady from Florida’s Sixth Judicial Circuit
where she was fortunate to gain insight to the practice of law from a
judicial perspective. Her duties in the capacity included conducting extensive
research on various legal issues as well as preparing legal memoranda
and orders. While attending Stetson, Mrs. De la Fe was the recipient of
distinguished honors, including the Victor O. Wehle Trial Advocacy Award,
the William F. Blews Pro Bono Service Award and the Leadership Development
Mrs. De la Fe is admitted to practice law in Florida, as well as before
the U.S. District Court of the Middle District of Florida.
Her experience includes:
- Litigation - Representing corporate and individual clients in various civil
matters such as real estate litigation and contract disputes;
- Estate Planning - Assisting clients in the preparation of Advance directives,
wills, revocable trusts as well as in probate and trust administration; and
- Immigration Law - Law clerk with the Tampa law firm of Fowler White Boggs.
Mrs. De la Fe provides Lilly, O’Toole & Brown clients legal services
in the areas of Immigration Law and Personal Injury/Wrongful Death.
Mrs. De la Fe’s involvement in the community includes serving as
Secretary for the Hispanic Bar Association of the Tenth Judicial Circuit,
being a member of the Advisory Board for the Imperial Symphony Orchestra
as well as the Children’s Council at First United Methodist Church, Lakeland.
In addition to practicing law, Mrs. De la Fe is a passionate musician.
She enjoys playing the piano and singing in the Contemporary Service at
First United Methodist Church. She is married to Gian Carlo and they have
two daughters, Sofia and Gabriella. She is fluent in Spanish.
