Sisters Injured When Personal Watercraft Explodes
Sisters Tiffany M. Davis, 16, and Heather N. Davis, 19, were injured when their personal watercraft exploded in the Intracoastal Waterway in Clearwater on Sunday, August 24. Both were hospitalized, and fortunately, their injuries were not life-threatening.Naturally, this raises the question, how does a personal watercraft explode? The investigation is continuing, but all too often, the destruction of the product can make pinpointing the cause difficult. Under Florida law, however, under certain circumstances, the fact that the product was destroyed at all can raise an inference that it wouldn't have been destroyed if it wasn't defective.
Product manufacturers and insurers know this, but do not inform injured consumers. If you've been injured by a product, consult with an attorney. You may find out that the same product has failed on other occasions.
