TRAGIC DEATH ON STATE ROAD 60, NOT WEARING SEAT BELT

Lorenzo Zarate was alone in his 1992 Chevrolet pickup around 1:30 in the morning on Sunday when he died in a single vehicle collision. Mr. Zarate was on State Road 60 and headed east bound when he drove off the road onto the south shoulder. While attempting to get back on the road Mr. Zarate over corrected, sending his truck into a clockwise spin and turning the truck over. As a result Mr. Zarate was thrown out of the truck onto the shoulder of the road where he died. Mr. Zarate was apparently not wearing his seatbelt, which is why he was thrown form the truck. This unfortunate circumstance is seen at Lilly, O'Toole and Brown all to often. We see people with horrible, sometime life threatening injuries that could have been prevented if only the person had been wearing their seatbelt. Sometimes seatbelts do not make any difference in a car crash but more often they help prevent tragic injuries or death. On top of that, it is the law. So when you get in your vehicle make sure you buckle up for safety. You may not get that choice in the middle of the crash.
